Please join us at our next concert which is in support of the Royal British Legion as they mark their centenary year.
SEE YOU THERE!
Some time ago we were able to present a magnificent £1000 to the Penlee Lifeboat Appeal. Last Saturday we shared a lovely evening of song with the Holman Climax Male Voice Choir at Paul Church and raised some additional funds for this most worthy cause.
Both choirs were in fine voice and presented a wide variety of music for the enjoyment of the enthusiastic audience. To round off the evening the choirs joined together to perform a rousing rendition of Morte Christe. St Pol de Léon Church is a beautiful in every respect and it was a privilege to perform there. Thank you to all the people who took part and attended – we hope to see you again very soon.
At the invitation of the Truro Branch of the WI we helped them celebrate their 100th year with a lovely harvest festival concert at Kenwyn Church. The acoustics and surroundings in Kenwyn Church are fabulous and the choir sang beautifully, resplendent in their red winter uniform. The choir was joined for this joyous occasion by Anne Parkes who sang a delightful mixture of up tempo jazz and smokey blues which was thoroughly enjoyed by the large, appreciative audience. Compere Sid Deeble kept us all entertained with witty anecdotes and the evening was polished off in style when the WI provided yummy pasties for one and all. A collection was made and the proceeds will go The Air Ambulance New Heli Appeal.
Our next concert will be shared with Holman Climax Male Voice Choir at Paul Church on Saturday 20th October when we will be raising funds for the Penlee Lifeboat.

Our recent concert shared with Marazion Male Voice Choir and Becky McGlade raised a sizeable amount so we were able to present a cheque for £500 to The Cove Macmillan Support at Treliske hospital.
The photo was taken in St Stythians Church and shows Cove volunteer Jen Woodford receiving the cheque from choir President Audrey and assistant treasurer Connie.
The choir members now have a little break in August and look forward to raising lots more money and learning lots more new songs soon.

It isn’t very often that two Ladies choirs share the same concert. The common perception is that one ladies and one male choir go to make a successful evening’s entertainment. Not so on July 21st!Stithians Ladies Choir joined Mevagissey Ladies Choir in a lovely concert held in the beautiful surroundings of St Goran’s Church to raise money in support of the Cornwall Air Ambulance.
The weather was balmy, the coach was on time, the audience was terrific, the music delightful and the refreshments at the end were Out Of This World! Thank you so much Mevagissey Ladies for inviting us to share this superb evening and raise some much needed funds for the New Heli Appeal. Let’s hope it is not too long before there can be a return visit – head West ladies and prove once again that a Ladies Night concert can be an absolute joy!
It had to be the hottest day of the year when we performed in a joint concert with Marazion Apollo MVC. Both choirs, as well as the audience, were positively glowing with the heat, the blinding sunshine through the stained glass windows of Falmouth Methodist Church, and the effort to sing in such conditions. But the professionalism of everyone prevailed! The gentlemen of Marazion Apollo were in fine voice, the compère, Adrian Wilton, kept us all on our toes with colloquial wise-cracks, Becky McGlade played her ‘cello like a dream, the audience was generous with their applause and their money and the Ladies sang beautifully. After the success of England in the football that afternoon spirits were as high as the temperatures and everyone left knowing that a good time was had by all and a large sum was raised to support the work of The Cove Macmillan. Thank you to all who gave of their time and talents.
