Didn’t we do well?

Recently Stithians Ladies gave a lovely concert which they shared with Barnstaple Ladies Choir, Rico Gerber and Louie Draycott. The aim, as well as making some excellent music and giving enjoyment to many, was to raise money for the Falmouth Methodist Church Regeneration Fund. And we certainly did! Through ticket sales, donations and a Grand Raffle we were able to present the church with a cheque for £1000.Pictured at our regular Thursday choir practice are representatives from the church, including Wendy McCartney, receiving a Big Cheque from treasurer Connie.

The Choir would like to offer sincere thanks to our guests for giving their time and talents to a wonderful occasion, a worthy cause and a splendid result. Not forgetting, of course, the lovely people from the church who gave so much assistance on the night ( and some truly scrumptious  refreshments! )

RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

1. Take two choirs, a trumpet and a noble church organ.                                      2. Add a dash of thoughtfully delivered narration.                                           3. A large helping of enthusiastic, appreciative audience.                               4. A generous portion of sublime music                                                               and you get …. lots of happy people and £1000!

Stithians Ladies Choir and Barnstaple Ladies Choir join together to sing Rutter’s “The Lord Bless You and Keep You “ as a finale to the concert.

Stithians Ladies Choir held a fund raising concert in aid of the Falmouth Methodist Church Regeneration project and they invited Barnstaple Ladies Choir, trumpeter Louie Draycott and organist Rico Gerber to join them. The result was a fabulous feast of music from madrigals to musicals, Elgar to Ellington and everything in between. The performers were from all walks of life and ranged in age from some life-long choir members in their 80s to young, local  brass player Louie Draycott and they were all brought together by the power of music and the desire to help. Money was raised by ticket sales, a grand raffle, collections and donations and later this week the Choir will present a cheque for £1000 to Falmouth Methodist Church.

Join Stithians Ladies for their next charity concert in St Budock Church on Saturday July 13th at 7.30. On this occasion they will be joined by The Beatroots, a fabulous, young A Capella group from Oxford.

💜 Our next concert

Stithians Ladies are really looking forward to their next concert.

They will be joined by  Barnstaple Ladies Choir for a concert to raise funds for the extensive regeneration programme at Falmouth Methodist Church. Also lending their support and talents are Louie Draycott on trumpet and Rico Gerber who will be showing what the magnificent pipe organ can do. The event is called RAISE THE ROOF and that is exactly what is planned! We will also learn about the chapel itself from its inception, through the dramatic events of evening of October 9th 1940, up to the present day when this thriving central resource in Falmouth really needs some TLC.

COME AND BE PART OF IT
