Last night was the first practice of 2017 and the ladies made a fine sound – not a bit rusty after the Christmas break and raring to go with new music. It was lovely to get back into the swing of wonderful singing and catching up with friends. We are really looking forward to the challenges that the new year will bring and to sharing our music making far and wide. For a list of our 2017 concerts please click the Concerts and Events tab above.
Meanwhile, here is a selection of photos taken by John Colgate at the Stithians Centre. The concert featured the St Stythians Male Voice Choir, the St Stythians Band and ourselves. A packed hall and the joy of sharing music and laughter with friends ensured a most enjoyable Stithians tradition.
How wonderful it is for me to receive/see this. All of it. But especially the pic of the Altar in the Parish Church on which my great grandpa and grandma (Henry Pringle and Jane Pascoe) were married and the one inside the Methodist Church where I fondly remember Rex Pascoe singing. My love to Peggy. And to add my profound sadness to Pat’s reporting of the passing of my dear and honored friend (even relative) Ron Pascoe, He was very special to me.
God Bless Stithians and all things Cornish.
Lew Pringle
PS My pasties are still better than anything you can get the other side of the Tamar (but Ron always said my saffron cake was more useful as a weapon than as a food).
How lovely to hear from you again, Lew! You may have found other sites of interest regarding Stithians but just in case … try these?

Kind regards from the ladies of the choir and a happy 2017 to you and yours.
