When it is a freezing cold December evening, pitch dark and pouring with rain AND you are approaching your 92nd birthday – what do you do? …. put your feet up in front of the fire and watch “Strictly”?
NO – if you are part of Stithians Ladies Choir you wrap up warmly and make your way to Ponsanooth Playing Field for the Christmas Lights Switch On!

We were blessed with a certain amount of shelter and we watched the little children march around with their home-made lanterns. They sang a couple of songs and we launched into “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” to a backing track. Even though there were negative aspects to the event a good time was had by all as everyone admired each others’ fortitude and determination.

Our next two Christmas events are indoors!
